Have you ever noticed..until the time your friends are married they completely understand every thought of yours about what an ideal marriage should be like, how one should find their partner and how time is not the issue but finding the 'right' partner is..but when once they get married, their agenda in life seems to be to get everyone else around them to marry.. the same thoughts and principles seem ridiculous to them now!
Is it jealously or enlightenment? ;-)

Marriage..the why of it
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:48 AM) we are now discussing something else..we are discussing the fundamental root cause because of which people get married..
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:48 AM) the most basic stimulus
Kapil Jain... (9:48 AM) fear
Kapil Jain... (9:48 AM) :)
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:48 AM) of?
Kapil Jain... (9:48 AM) several things
Kapil Jain... (9:49 AM) to say, basic human characterstics are fear and laziness, fear makes us do things, laziness makes us not do things
Kapil Jain... (9:49 AM) we jump from one to another broadly based on these two
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:50 AM) hmm..so then there are different flavours of fear..
Kapil Jain... (9:50 AM) everything is driven by fear
Kapil Jain... (9:50 AM) whatever happens
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:50 AM) hmm..interesting observation
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:50 AM) i hadn't thought of it in that way
Kapil Jain... (9:50 AM) :)
Kapil Jain... (9:50 AM) i have more free time, and what is there to do :)
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:50 AM) so, people who are unmarried all their life, are more secure?
Kapil Jain... (9:51 AM) no no can not be concluded that way
Kapil Jain... (9:51 AM) they might be suffering from fear of failure
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:51 AM) so..fear gets people to marry and the same fear gets them to not marry as well
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:52 AM) yeah..sounds logical..
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:52 AM) so then its a question of which fear can be overcome..that would then result in people one decision over the other
Kapil Jain... (9:52 AM) yes, these are wholistic characterstics which are behind the rational structure we create for defining our actions
Kapil Jain... (9:54 AM) you can say that, yes
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:54 AM) you should definately comment on our blog..
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:54 AM) it will be interesting :-)
Kapil Jain... (9:54 AM) you can use this chat as comment, can't you?
Sudhindra Balaji... (9:54 AM) oh yes..and i will..in 5mins you'll see it up on the blog
Kapil Jain... (9:57 AM) and one more thing to think about, you will know how when you know who moves the torch
Sudhindra Balaji... (10:00 AM) hmm.. :-)

Decentralized customer satisfaction touch-points
In the Retail marketing arena, customer satisfaction occurs at every contact point the customer has with the company's product. Extending the same concept to IT Services, companies talk about 'customer satisfaction', is it often the case that the initiatives are driven from the top? (e.g. value added services, discounted rates etc.)
If the perception of value and the addition of tangible value truly is added by the 'work on the floor', must the developers not be 'empowered and mentored' to enhance these 'customer satisfaction touch-points'? Thereby, taking customer satisfaction initiatives from a 'top driven' approach to a more 'decentralized' one?

Employee loyalty
Is it possible to quantify the true value of employee loyalty to an organization? What do we mean when we say 'he/she is loyal as compared to the next person' - is it only longevity that contributes to loyalty? Can employees perform at their best and be considered 'not loyal'?
